Not the healthiest lunch, but hey - it's a Friday! Ham, turkey on French toast and lamb sliders with taziki! Oh, and a beatnik sour and an experimental IPA to wash it all down with! Love our Des Moines trips!

Bricktown
Summer brew, perhaps a Berliner. Very light, just a little tart. Drinkable. Kolsch, also light. Really not a lot different than the summer. Blueberry blonde...so far the three taste very similar, except this has some blueberry flavor. The American wheat had a sort of a cleanser taste, was clear and light. Not great. The session IPA was very mild, earthy bitterness. Not hoppy. Interesting "red". Color-wise, it was not red at all. Looked like a SMaSH. Actually, tasted like a malty version of a SMaSH. Definitely not a red. Hope we can do better. American Brown Ale. Now this was interesting. Color was more what I think of for a red, but it had a really nice, bright fruitiness to it. Not nutty as their description states, but very good. Not what I think of for a brown, but very good. Nose has some funk...if I didn't know, I'd think this is a lighter version of a barrel aged sour. Must be some brett in this recipe somewhere. Last but not least was the sweet stout. It really wasn't very sweet, and description said lactose sugar, so good to know. Nose was a lot of coffee bitterness, no chocolate. Maybe a little chocolate flavor, but hardly noticeable. Good stop.
This is actually a chain restaurant similar to Granite City. Originally from Oklahoma, with stores in Wichita, Arkansas and Texas.
